Poetry by Lilia Lee

Enough

I met you,

blue-eyed Casanova,

on a day already drowned by night,

the sky freckled with cosmic conspiracy

and star-crossed kryptonite.

I yelled at you in praise, hot damn,

and sized you up like a specimen,

thinking this conversation

would never happen again

would be our first

and

our last.

I never knew you'd come back to me.

And now, here I am,

stirred by the young words

that slip from your lips

sometimes nervous -- awkward,

but always honest,

satisfying.

Listen,

I don't know where this will go.

Listen,

It doesn't matter where this will go.

This is enough.
